Virginia Commonwealth Games Equestrian Competition — Virginia's own amateur sports festival brings its equestrian competition to the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington through Sunday, July 26. Riders across multiple disciplines compete for Commonwealth Games medals in one of the state's best multi-discipline showcases. Event details
Virginia Walking Horse Celebration — Friday through Sunday, the smooth-gaited stars take the spotlight at the Virginia Horse Center. The Celebration is a long-running favorite for Walking Horse fans, with classes running all weekend. Event details
American Connemara Pony Society Region 3 Show — Saturday and Sunday, the versatile Connemara pony gets its due in Lexington. Expect everything from in-hand classes to performance rounds from one of the most athletic pony breeds around. Event details
East Coast Western Dressage Championships — Kicking off Sunday, July 26 and running through Tuesday at the Virginia Horse Center, this championship brings top Western dressage horses and riders from up and down the coast. Event details
Sunday polo, two ways — Roseland Polo plays Sunday afternoons at King Family Vineyards in Crozet (free, bring a picnic), and the Great Meadow Summer Polo Series continues at Great Meadow in The Plains.
